This morning was......interesting.

  • Def some size around, but unfortunate wind conditions and a very pitchy, ledgy (is that even a word?) wave breaking by me this morning. If you think of taking off on a nice rampy clean peak, this was....well, the polar opposite.  ::)

But I kinda liked it. A lot.

It forced me to be 100% on top of my game (whatever game I have LOL) in terms of reading the waves and being as technically on top of things as I could possibly be to get into them - not just make the wave, but to give myself any chance at all of linking up sections.

Challenging. Fun. As our man WaveDancer would say, "Life is good."

  • I was thinking the same thing...I had a blast in central this morning.  I pretty much resided myself to the fact that I was gonna get worked ...alot, and it's always the waves you don't expect to make that end up being the best 8)

  • It was the same where I was and pretty funky but we had some fun. After surfing we decided to bodysurf the shorebreak for a little bit which was challenging and fun. Nothing like a good working to get your day started!

  • dead low tide with a nice sw bump on it where we were led to some intersting drops indeed . Some good ones and at least 4-5 bounces off the jetty in between some fast screamers . What coulda been had we had a wind like MOn !!!Some behind the rock waves with a lump in front of it led to real sketchy ledges , made a lot and went on a few suicide mission ,luckily no one hurt .

Yeah...suicide missions were there to be had, if you wanted them. I had one screamer of a left open a barrel for me on the inside....which I promptly dodged, realizing there was no exit and I was in about 9 inches of water. And it wasnt going to pinch me, it was going to pound me. It just wasnt worth the beating/injury/broken board.

ledgy is definitely a word.  As soon as i heard that my only thought was it's probably a good day to strap on the fins and bodysurf..  yummy

  • I like the level of concentration i get for the following waves when I bounce on my butt off of two underwater rocks after the ledge I scratched over hiccuped.
It's no better to be safe than sorry....
