I've been planning to go to LA to visit a friend since he moved a little while back.  I received a very tempting offer for a $299 ticket...but it was from Delta.  Amazing that they can take me on a round trip for a dollar less than it would cost for the surfboard one way  :o!

Despite the fact that I wasn't on planning on taking my board, I still didn't want to give my money to Delta...yet the ticket is over $100 less than anyone else...until today!

Virgin America stepped in with a $271 round trip ticket..snatched it up and I'm on my way to LaLa land  ;D

Maybe this will signal a start of the good ol' price wars...and they will have to do away with discriminatory fees to compete  :P

PS:  I could take my board for $50 each way with Virgin  ::)

I'm flying Virgin America...not Atlantic.  I see on their websites that they have different rules...kinda sucks, but it's still not as bad as Delta.

and, reported in today's news, Delta is also considered the worst of all domestic airlines for bumping passengers and overbooking flights.  so they really are Doing Everything to Limit Travel Abroad.
