  • 2 excel 6 mil suits in a row have the same cold worn out spot in my left elbow. good suit otherwise, but that cols spot on the elbow.  It's gotta be something I do, But What? ??? ?
your crushing the rubber when you ride your log and your lying down on it you put your elbows on the board, same crap happened to me.

What was the final outcome?  Did Billabong buy gothamsurf like they have everything else this year?  As far as I know in the past 2 years bong has purchased, Sector 9, Xcel, Orion Surfboards, and a few surfshops down in FL.  Im sure these other stuff over seas that they have acquired?  I wonder when Red Bull will buy quicksilver?

They bought Orion?  I'm pretty sure that Evan Geiselman rides for Hurley and I'm not sure about Eric.  Maybe this is a way to get to two of the top amateurs on the East Coast, buy dad's company.  ;D

  • funny da kook I though the same exact thing.  Same with taking over xcel meant they got Bede, the bruweillers from vancouver in addition they purchased the families surf camp on vancouver island.  Buying Sector 9 means they now sponsor Tudor, Gavin Beschen (who also rode for xcel), Adam Virs who surfs for fox and is Dane Reynolds wingman, and Derreck Dumphee who won the xxl award for biggest paddle in or maybe biggest wave overall.

  • well on a side note, a grom from LB came into the restaurant last weekend wearing the legit t not Fillabong nock off.  I mentioned my buddy makes the Tshirts and she said his uncle got it for him for his birthday last year and its the only shirt he wears, she said the hardest part is stealing it from him just so she can wash it.  Now if a boy has that reaction to a tshirt I dont see why Fillabong would want a some of that, oh wait yes I do.  After spending some time with Gordon while living in HI, I helped on the renovation of his home overlooking Jocko's, Holton's, Chun's, Lanis, and Himalayas I would expect better from him.  I think he would correct the situation, Alex I can get you the number of that attorney over the weekend if you still need it.

  • Thanks Gmoney & newyorkc, and always onefin. The deal is over and I got a great email from Paul the CEO of bong.

I've pasted it below with my reply below that, but biggest thanks to Jack McCoy, he is the man!

    Hi Alex,
    [/]
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  The good news is that it’s not as bad as it originally looked.  Here’s what happened:[/]
It appears that one of the floor staff arrived at work wearing your “I Surf NY” T-shirt.  The rest of the crew on duty that day thought it was cool and decided that it would be a good “Staff” shirt to wear to work the floor.  They requested a small run of a couple hundred for staff only and this went straight through the production department and bypassed the design department where the checks and balances would have taken place.  The shirts were distributed to staff and unfortunately, based on strong staff reaction, a small order was placed to bring in for sale in the store.[/]  On questioning the NY staff, they felt that it was no different to the “I Heart NY” T-shirt art available on every corner of NY City and did not see anything wrong.  Naïveté could be questioned but these are really just enthusiastic kids.  +/- 500 units were put out for sale.  At time of writing, +/-300 units were left.  They have been removed from the floor and are being returned to California to be destroyed.  The employees will discontinue wearing these garments as “Staff” shirts going forward.
    [/]

Please accept my apologies for this incident.  I understand your frustration and anger regarding this matter as our designs get knocked-off on a grand scale continuously.  Hopefully we can agree to now put this matter to rest.  Please confirm or advise if you require any further information.[/]
    Regards,[/]
    Paul[/]

     Good Morning Paul,
thank you so much for looking into this and providing an answer and solution.

I am absolutely fine with this result and I greatly appreciate all your comments. So consider this put to rest.

And thanks for the tip-off re: Blades. I actually went & tried to put my shirts in their store, they denied me and now have done the knock-off instead. I will look into it as you suggest.

Again, thank you so much for your time and effort in getting this resolved. It means a lot to me that we, as surfers, can help each other and look out for each other as Jack and yourself have proven.

    Best Regards,
    Alex K

  • Why can't you let them wear them as staff shirts as long as they let you sell them in the store. split the profits or pay a percentage of sales for the floor space.

  • I was going to respond similar to your suggestion, but didn't think it was appropriate in that first reply, but I am intending to follow up with that idea.

  • too bad the rest are being shipped to CA to be destroyed-- that just seems wasteful (shipping and destroying) but I guess the only other thing to do would be to donate them to a local GoodWill or such.  nice that you got a response.  I guess in the wrong instance "enthusiastic kids" could land someone in a lawsuit -- but good on them for trying to make right I guess.

glad you have some resolution NYCWO - classy!
