  • Gotta start battening down the hatches out east. Potential Hurricane Bob situation?
What scares me is the actual size of this storm. Truly hoping that front arrives sooner then expected.

    In fiona news:
    Forecast for Fiona
Moderate   wind shear and dry air should keep Fiona from attaining hurricane   status over the next two days, as big brother Earl continues to bring   high wind shear. The shear may be strong enough to destroy Fiona, as   predicted by the NHC. However, by this weekend, Earl may pull far enough   away for shear to drop and Fiona to survive. The 4 - 5 day track   forecast is highly uncertain, as there is a large spread in the model   solutions. It is possible Fiona may pose a threat to Bermuda on Saturday   or Sunday, and the storm could wander for a week or more in the waters   between Bermuda and the U.S. East Coast.

  • Ruh Roh.  Tropical Storm warnings issued for where I am.  which seems pretty early.  Makes me wonder if a Hurricane watch will be issued tomorrow?

I spent the majority of the last 4 hurricane seasons surfing in OC and the mid-atlantic region...I never understood the lack of mainstream coverage for the region considering how hollow and powerful it can get there.  Granted I would normally rather surf around home with all the options, but damn...It's hard to match the  top to bottom barrels in OC on an overhead day.  Can't beat that 30 second paddle out either 8) .

  • From what I remember Bob was very sim ----- except for danny and fiona. The surf was not good, me and a bud paddled out as the storm was passing and it was unridable in rockaway, 5 block long closeouts then it blew heavy west for a day and blew it out

  • Well if it stays like this we're definitely in for a pretty good storm on LI. Have they officially given us a TS Watch yet? If Big Earl moves west after it visits NC we could be looking at something real nasty (granted nothing like NC). I don't wanna be a pessimist, but its at what a 4 now? What do you think the odds are of it going a bit east (only clipping NC), and then veering up west and paying us a visit with a nice cat 4 or 5 if the water is warm enough? Seems the idea isn't so out there as to not plan for it.

  • Looseness, I think I knew that.
Here's the update. Chillin at Seacrets with the family. Mayor I'd telling everyone to stay. Bay is a sheet of glass. I anticipate that all to change in about 6 hours. Awesome sunset right now.
