  • It's horrible to say, but I'm kind of glad I don't close on my house in LB until October 1st.  :-\

  • Track seems to look more and more ominous with every update....

I admit it, this one's starting to make me nervous, and not in a "there's big surf coming!" kinda way.....more of a "trim the tree branches and get everything up out of the basement and get ready to get out of town" kind of way. :-\ :-\ :-\

  • Does anyone else find it odd that no one is talking about the possibility of really bad things on the news?

Yes...I was thinking the same thing! Usually the news is wayy ahead of storm story events, the hype machine is lagging on this one!

All the people I talk to have no clue a hurricane is heading to the North East.  Is the media trying to reduce lost revenue for the labor day weekend?

Why is it when there's nothing really brewing everyone's making it out to be the end of the world but when it's looking like we're seriously going to get slammed barely a whisper is heard?

  • Good question Mims, I've noticed that with many issues over the last 5 years. Hurricane Katrina is an example. Not to stir hype, but the historical meteorological record shows that many of the worst landfalling hurricanes in the NE last century were preceded by heat waves. I prefer the historical record over the media as my guide with everything these days.

  • Well we're definitely sweating this one, but if you guys have any family or friends near OBX I would tell the to GTFO. Looks really bad for basically the entire NC shoreline.
