"Meteorologists Philip Klotzbach and William Gray -- in the 27th annual early extended-range hurricane forecast issued by Colorado State University's Tropical Meteorology Project -- predict 11-16 named storms will develop, 6-8 of them hurricanes and 3-5 of the hurricanes to become major hurricanes with winds of 111 mph or greater."

It's not the number of storms, it's the number that spend time in our window that interests me. We'll see. After a promising start last year, who could have predicted that the number would end with "Danny".  :-\

Excellent idea!!

How about this: We'll set up a board at the Tap and Grill one sat night before the official start of hurricane season - for a $5 donation to a charity of The Graybeard's choice you get to throw a dart at a "prediction" board - blindfolded. As "predictions" are hit, they are removed from the board. Winner gets a new leash and 5 bars of wax, courtesy of NYNJSurf.com.

And I guarantee you're right: The person who is unlucky enough to hit the "official" prediction for number of hurricanes most certainly will have no chance of winning!

 ;D ;D ;D

And I was just wondering if they have like pre-written forecasts A-F that they rotate on a random basis.  ::)
