I am getting back into surfing after a 15 year hiatus.  I am not confident enough to go surfing alone.  I am not that good, right now; but, i am looking to work hard to get better.

I would appreciate having someone to surf with.  drop me a line if you would like to go out surfing with me.

take a deep breath, and jump in. There'll be plenty of people around. Duke Storm is local to that part of the world, I'm sure he can point you in the right direction. welcome back....have fun!

All of the spots you surfed 15 years ago are still there.
The only difference is that there are more people from NY when the wind goes west.

hey flat...

Not sure what your work schedule is, but for me I can never dp during the week(unless I'm off) and am usually relagated to afternoon/evening work week sessions. Of course, weekends are flexible. Good luck and if your looking for some info, check out www.dukestorm.com for surf reports/forecasts....

If you can't paddle out in N.NJ in the summertime by yourself, you really ought to think about rollerblading or some other activity.  Don't forget your kneepads.

your concern is just your inner, smarter, subconcious telling you not to attempt to do something  you can not handle.

I recommend you paddle exercise, 250 yards (go out when its really flat) and back - try to finish in under 40 minutes. I'd say do at least 10 paddle sessions before you even consider trying to join a lineup and compete for a wave.

A seriously good idea. A few sets of pushups and crunches would be great too considering the pop-up and hanging onto your board stuff. I don't know what kind of shape you are in but if you haven't been doing anything exercise-wise everything helps.
