Grandpa and I took my two daughters to see this on a rainy July 5.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Its a really positive story for young girls and surprisingly topical (plucky nine year old living in depression-era Cinncinati saves family home from foreclosure).  Cast was terrific, script was fun and the fact that it was basically a ninety-minute commercial for a doll was less in-your-face than I would have though.  If you have daughters over five years old and haven't seen this yet, don't fret.  Its not nearly as painful as you think it will be.

I got away with one here. My wife took my 7 year old and her cousin while I enjoyed a double session.

This was payback of sorts for my triple dip on Friday.  Still and all, not a bad way to spend the afternoon, and my 7 year old totally loved it.  Makes me happy when she's happy, so . . .
