seriously - i would keep an eye on the forecasts for central america and PR/DR. not sure you want to go much farther if it's not more than a week off. keep an eye on mexico, too. wait til you're a little closer to go time, and the forecast is more reliable, then pull the trigger

  • thinking i might ski instead of surf actually, or maybe do a combo.  out to vail for a few days, onward to california, back to nyc?  or maybe drive up to vt for sat-sun-mon, then back to nyc, fly to pr or dr, then back?  hmmm....

  • Hi,

Just came back from a great session at Playa Encuentro here in the D.R.  The last weeks have been amazing and a new swell is on the way. Apart from the surf there is also a lot of things to do and to see here and Cabarete got a spectacular nightlife and great bars and restaurants on the beach.
Let me know if you have any questions about the surf, the spots or the location.

  • decided on half ski, half surf.  skiing out west somewhere to be decided on sat/sun/mon/tues, then to la to surf cali weds/thurs/fri before i head back.  think the ski decision is between park city and vail.

  • Why not do the whole thing in NorCal?  Ski North Lake Tahoe, Surf Santa Cruz.  One flight instead of two.

Great idea, Bubba.  BTW Reno isn't that far away if it's flat and the snow sucks.   ;D ;D
