  • Hi,

i'm from germany and i occasionally surf up in denmark or in southern france. Now i'm from march 16th-till 3th of april in new york and just heard that there are some good spots around. is there any chance to catch some waves in march and are there any board and maybe even wetsuit rentals open during that time of year so that i don't have to bring my own 5mm neo and my own board?

    thx for answering

  • Surf season in NY&NJ is Spring Winter and Fall. From Montauk to Cape May.All beaches are open as no life guards are on duty.and you dont need a beach pass exept at maybe some state parks.only a Suggestion leave your Surf board bring your wet suit bootys and gloves. As you can get a surf board New for about 400 thats US dollars.and used boards for less here.Board rentals?ya but.probably only Bic boards.I may be wrong. Compare the cost of dragging a board back and forth from Europe to the US it might be costly talking euros. apx 100 euros equals 150 us dollars.you might want to stock up on surf gear here.Too.Check other sights For surf spots in Ny NJ Just type surf Ny and walla as if I spot drop the local surf mafia will kill me.check the surf forcast for ny nj before you go because Ny can be sketchy as to surf conditions usually 1m to1.5m. I met some Germans in furto fentura CI this year (the hawaii of the Atlantic) who surfed  NY.cool crew.remember Ny&NJ isnt really a surf destination. There might even be some snow left in the Hills of Ny and Vermont too. enjoy
