How long?  Budget?  Without knowing the answers to the preceeding, have you considered Peru?  Your biggest expense will be the flight there.

Screw you onefin.  ;D

• so nice yo said it twice, i think your pushing in S Lima this time of year, brown trout is huge.  Get your as to N Peru and own it like it's a redheaded stepchild.  Heard about the resort being built and that it was an awesome deal for what the offer and I beleave it owned and operated by peruvians.  Towing service bitch cuz what else would you need on the worlds longest left deep into southern hemi season, TOWING SERVICE...

ACCOMMODATIONS: Eighteen 127.5 square foot double rooms that can accommodate up to three persons with an additional and extremely comfortable bed and and one 256 square foot suite that can accommodate up to 5 beds. Each room has a private bathroom and a private deck with a view to the lineup.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES: You will find a dinning room attended by a chef who will serve you tasty and healthy high quality home made food, thinking about the best nutrition of our guests. Our bar has a variety of spirits and wines, including our world famous Pisco Sour.

ENTERTAINMENT: A large entertainment area that includes computers and internet access, large screen TV’s, darts, Backgammon, pool and assorted table games.

HEALTH SPA: Warm your body or cool down your aching muscles in our steam room, sauna, Jacuzzis, Spanish shower, and massages.

GYM: Legs aren’t strong enough to ride a wave for five minutes? Work on them with our total access bicycles, weight lifting, cardio glide and step machines.

SURFBOARD RENTALS: You may want to avoid the hassle of traveling with your surfboard or avoid damage or loss while abroad. We offer you the possibility of renting one of our boards during your stay. We have a stock of shortboards, long boards and fun boards in sizes that range from 6 to 9 feet. We suggest making reservations 45 days in advance to assure availability upon your arrival. Ask for our rates.

TOWING SERVICE: With the world’s longest left wave you can end up a mile away from your initial starting point. Chicama surfers say this is the only surf spot in the world where legs are more important than arms. Paddling back is almost impossible and walking back cuts down on surf time. The resort has powered watercraft which will be available during surfing hours to allow you to enjoy your surfing experience to the max. Boat assisted surfing allows for more time surfing and less time paddling or walking back to a good starting position. Our watercraft will also be available for kite or wind surfing in Chicama.

GIFTSHOP: Catch Chicama good and it will be in your dreams forever. For more material souvenirs, we offer a shop where you will find wetsuits, surfing booties, surfing accessories and supplies, t-shirts and caps, and a fine selection of typical Peruvian handcrafts.

AIRPORT PICK-UP: You will arrive at Lima International Airport where you can take the local connection to Trujillo airport, if an overnight is required there is a Hotel at the Lima airport. This should be arranged through your travel agency. Upon arrival in Trujillo special vehicles will be waiting to drive you to the resort. Many waves and good ties later, we will drive you back to the airport on your departure. For rates check with your travel agent or contact us.[/]

• this is good stuff; keep it coming

chicama is very doable.  even though i'm regular.  that's how much i love point breaks.  i'd probably spend half the day going backside and half the day trying to surf switchfoot.  does it barrel?

dakook with the proximity to lima wouldn't pico alto be crowded?

with both: how cold?

ideal situation: long barreling right hand point break.  in boardies.

yeah one to the fin, we need to meet up!

• peru is typically considered the land of left, that said La Isla and Caballeros in Punta Hermosa are pretty epic and will be big.  La Isla is a similair setup to Sunset, where as caballeros is more of a skatey right up to 8 ft.  Kon Tiki is an epic outer reef I have yet to surf because I am a doofus and went undergunned.  There is also Pacho Rocas which is a pretty great right.  The more N you go the more left dominant the coastline becomes.  I know of other rights S of Lima but the spoon I am feeding you with is only so big.

Of course there is Pavones and the right on the other side.  Oh and Morroco the land of epic empty rights, cheap as brown trout.  Seasonally not so sure?  Fiti fiti in tahiti is bonkers this time of year.  Google it snittzle.

your not going to surf pico alto trust me and going this time of year is thier winter.

BONUS RECOMMENDATION:
Ica -T[/]he[/] finest right-breaking wave in Peru.  Because of its position, the island features the only wave in Peru where right-running, tubular waves break to the west. The water is very cold, and strong winds gust in the afternoons. Its a unique surf spot, where surfers take to the waves amidst hundreds of sea lions.
Access: The island lies 5 km west of the Paracas Peninsula. It can only be reached by boat and surfers tend to hire launches at El Chaco.

• I've always wanted to finally hit Bali.
Just scored a job teaching night school at a "Grade 13" college so it looks like next year I may have the ducats saved for a 6 week binge. I guess it's pretty much lefts, Surfnli, but it's BARRELING siiiiick lefts and there no finer a pursuit than backside barrel surfing.
Although mechanical mile-long point surf might be pretty damn fun too, but I surf in a wetsuit about 7 days a year these days(when I visit my mom in Northern Cal.) and never for more than 2 hours at a time. Just imagine a week surfing Chicama WITH TOW SERVICE. You would probably spend more actual surf time in one week(I mean time actually riding waves) as you do all year in LI.
