LIJohn... the issue is not entirely what you were asking about, but how you asked it. Your approach was tantamount to barging into a crowded party and shouting, "MY NAME IS JOHN! I LIKE BEER! WHERE'S THE KEG???"
It has less to do with surfing and more to do with message board etiquette (which, in a strange way, aren't all that different.) I mean... check the post counts - these guys have been around these parts a while.
If you choose to stick around, great - welcome to the community. Give it some time before you post your next topic. Do a search or two and see if the info has already been posted. Reply to a couple of them if they fit your inquiry.
In essence, your demeanor is more fitting of the "young generation today" then I think you realize. You first topic post was the equivalent of paddling to the peak on your first day out, knowwhatI'msayin'?
Tummee - I hear what you are saying. I did a search and found nothing.
Really? You must not have looked very hard, because in about thirty seconds with teh google machines, I found this very informative page with a map and photos and swell direction info and water temp info and tide info and other stuff that you might find useful. Also, if you click around on that website, which I found after about thirty seconds wif teh googles, you'll find similar information about other nearby breaks.
p.s. I hope some Straightoff Adolph newbie drops in on you and dings your board.

Dude, I found this page in 10 seconds. Ha, faster than you. BUT if you read my post, I was looking for actual paddle out areas. This link doesn't tell you were, just info on the area. STRAIGHTOFF? What, you'll be in the water?
paddle out areas? it's a beachbreak! again like i said--take a walk on the beach--observe--surf. the end.
Dude please! Are you serious! You know what I am asking... What stretch of blocks allows surfing, beaches and what does not?? Forget it. I should have figured highschool musical runs the show here.
OK - now you're really starting to piss me off.
"High School Musical" does not run the show here. I run the show. It's my website and I run it with a team moderators that have an uncountable amount of water time between them and as a group have forgotten more about surfing than you and I put together will ever know, Jackass. Nevermind the guy who actually answered your question, who knows as much as anyone, anywhere - and the hundreds of other solid citizens of the surf community that visit and contribute here every single day.
Would you PLEASE read the first response to your post, the one from onefin?? And when you do, please point out to me how it wasnt a dead-on exact answer to your question adn then some, and exactly what you found offensive?
And before you go insulting me, the moderators and the site again, take a couple of goddam moments to wise up a bit and do some research, and be grateful anyone answered your question at ALL. I'd LOVE to see you roll up to just about any decent surf break in the world and say to the locals there, "Hey, anyone want to hold my hand and tell me everything you know about the place?" and see how well it goes over....it would be quite a sight.
You asked a very specific question about a relatively exclusive spot that a LOT of people would prefer not be talked about publicly for fear of inducing even more crowding - yet your question was answered very VERY completely and quickly, and you werent called out for poor etiquette for even asking publicly.
Here's a suggestion: Instead of criticizing the site, the way it's run, and the people who answered your question, how about CONTRIBUTING something before you ask for a handout, Jackass. You may be 39 years old, but if you ask me, the one who's acting like a spoiled-little-brat-asking-for-a-handout-and-getting-his-panties-in-a-bunch-cause he didnt-like-the-tone-of-the-answer-high school kid is YOU.
