My wife and I (and 3 year old) are considering a trip down the Shore for the May long weekend - we're thinking Atlantic City for mix of surf and opportunity to lose at poker. I have zero idea of surfing around there, other than what I've read here. Any advice on AC as well as accommodations - know a Bed & Breakfast or hotel where we won't break the bank - (ie. Not Trump)... Feel free to PM me or reply etc.
Thanks,
M.

Hotels ARE A RIP OFF in AC. Even the dirtiest, nastiest flea bags want close to $100 per night. I've walked into some of these nasty places at 3 AM, when there is no chance they were gonna rent the room out and they still wouldn't cut me a deal that late at night. YOu're best bet for a cheap hotel is to try online at your favorite discount travel website.

The main surf spot is in front of the Taj and Showboat near a bunch of old rotting piers as well as the steel pier.

You must go to the White House sub shop for one of the best subs you will ever have in your life.

My dad is a "professional gambler", video poker to be presise. He goes down to AC everyday on the chinatown bus in Brooklyn, You actually get paid 15$ to go to AC on that bus. Because my father gambles so much he gets free hotel rooms at the Hilton on the boardwalk. In turn my father sells the free hotel rooms. If you'd like to get one pm me. 25-35$ a night.

Yo Mama, I've been trying to get together a big AC surf safari party trip for years now. We still haven't done it. Its too late now because of summer, but come fall, lets DO IT.

That'd be fun Spindrift, I always thought it would be funny to walk through the casino floor with wetsuits and surfboards in hand. We can take the bus down for Free! Actually make 15$. I'm down definately, the rooms are really nice at the Hilton, Nice view of the ocean with 2 king size beds and plenty of room to sleep on the floor. Last time I went I saw "Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge perform for free Grin  Let's do it!

I think the last time I was in Atlantic City, I saw them as well.

Of course I saw them at the Steel Pier and probably saw the diving horse the same afternoon.    Roll Eyes

I"ve walked through the casino with my gear once. But now I got a place to park right next to one of the two main breaks. THat is, until the build the next mega casino there. I can probably get a few of us into a real modern rock and roll show at the House of Blues, which is a great concert venue.
