This is my first post after lurking for quite a while. Fact of the matter is I've got two ill Grey Ghost sticks coming from back from the glasser in about a month. I can't wait so I guess this is my midway point post.

Board #1: 6'9" Long fish keel, ill bottom contours + beautiful Partch fins.

Board #2: 6'1" Single fin Stubbie. Greenough 4A waiting for it.

These are all I have to go on until they arrive or the next few days deliver some bump... buoys say that it's here and the schedule's cleared.

Joey, thank you for such craftsmanship. And thanks for taking the time to show me the shape shack.

Shaping some tight designs. Get on board NY/NJ surfers.
(One day you can say you have a circa 2008 Grey Ghost and that you knew him back when...)

My 6' stubbie with little Partch side bites is probably keeping your 6'1" company as they wait to be glassed.

Looking forward to getting that thing in the water.

Yeah... I feel very blessed to have these sticks heading my way. A bunch of events came together (some extra scratch, blanks that I had, Joe's talent). ELK, your board is keeping mine company. I think they are drinking buddies. I saw the sidebites when I was at The Grey Ghost Factory.

Here's some more info on the Stubbie: http://www.newyorksurf.com/modules/ipboard/index.php?showtopic=16148

and the Longfish: http://www.newyorksurf.com/modules/ipboard/index.php?showtopic=16114

To top it off, the stubbie is Biofoam and the longfish is Ice 9 Cane formula...

The idea was to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and to try bioresin or RR but as the the pre-planning got more and more cumbersome, and knowing that I would get mixed results at best, it soon figured it would be better for the environment for me to have a quality shaper tear into these as opposed to me wasting blanks and glassing materials... all to be quickly heading to the trash. That would bump up the board count unnecessarily would take attention away from energies that should be placed on increasing my skill set.

The final death tolls were going to the Fish Frye and looking at Joey's boards. With the FF, it was seeing over 50 fish, each with subtle tweaks and shaper's decisions. With Joey, it was just what Looseness said.

I'm sold. In the meantime, I'm waiting...

Cesar, getting one is just a PM away. And some cash...

I picked it up from the glasser 2 weeks ago and went to the beach. Handles good range of conditions and loves the pocket like no other board I've ridden. Picks and full fawning info later. Need to work.
