Delta says $300 PER BOARD, EACH WAY? We say NO WAY!!!

Through the tremendous networking effort of NYCWipeout and the Gotham Surf Club, it's coming together! We're aiming towards 10,000 signatures of boycotting surfers and beginning to make plans for a demonstration to coincide with the presentation of the petition signatures and possible legal actions!

If you haven't done so already, please consider signing the petition and emailing the link to everyone and anyone you can think of!

I'm of the mind of screw Delta and just start fly with someone else. However if you don't tell them what you are doing then they just don't know and won't care. Plus if it doesn't affect there bottom line then other companies will follow suit and it will become accepted practice.

PS you guys crack me up with this hole discriminatory slant. Your nuts to construe this as discriminatory.

How is it NOT discriminatory? They come right out and say that the policy is based on weight and size of the item, then ignore that golf clubs and skis weigh as much and more? And are they going to start charging PER SKI next time you go to Vale?? Come on...it absolutely meets the definition. They singled out one group and applied standards that are not consistent which their position for other groups.

dis·crim·i·na·to·ryadj.1. Marked by or showing prejudice; biased.2. Making distinctions.
the distinction being made is simple my 20 lb 6ft board bag is 200$ round trip but your 40 lb. golf club bag goes for free as does your bag of skis and boots that weigh 70 lbs.

Tell ya what - Just for kicks, I'll carry a shortboard in a bag around for 18 holes, you can carry a golf bag all 18. They're different alright - a loaded golf bag weighs MUCH more.

if a 6' bag is 72"Lx20"WDx4"HT=5760 cubic inches (if it was a rectangle shaped bag)
The large suitcase is 33.3" Hx22.9" Wx 11.6"D=8845.8 cubic inches
A hard travel golf case is 50.5" H x 19" W  x 14" D=13433 cubic inches
oh yeah and the board bag empty is 4 lbs. the suitcase is 11 lbs and the golf bag is 19 lbs. all those are empty weight.
Bustin out the seventh grade math, ol skool like parachute pants and jackets with to many zippers
and I know what your gonna say I ride and travel with a longboard bag not a 6', my longboard bag is 22,080 cubic inches which is still less luggage than the golf deuche who brings his golf bag and large suitcase for a weeks vacation.

fark that.  I want photos of onefin in the parachute pants and jacket with too many zippers.  I won't give away why I want this,  but it involves photoshop, onefin's photo and the photo of shacky.

I just paid 95 bucks each way on Taca after they told me & frrok on 2 separate occasions on their customer service number that it was free to travel with the bags, then 1 time they said $50.00 each way for 1 bag with 2 boards in it. I think they told something different to Frrok but he was stoked but at the airport after the tix had been purchased, we were charged $95.00 to get em there & then again to get them back home.
Lame.

Lame.

It's scary how the fees change depending on who you talk to. It seems they make it up as they go along.

Best advice I can think of? Get it in writing via email from them, and give it to the personnel at check-in.
