    addendum 7/30:

    1. A WELL-DEFINED AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS LOCATED ABOUT MIDWAY BETWEEN
THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS AND WESTERN AFRICA AND IS MOVING TO THE
NORTHWEST AT 10 TO 15 MPH.  THIS SYSTEM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME
A TROPICAL DEPRESSION TODAY BEFORE MOVING OVER COOLER WATERS
TOMORROW.   INTERESTS IN THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS SHOULD MONITOR THE
PROGRESS OF THIS SYSTEM.  REGARDLESS OF DEVELOPMENT...HEAVY RAIN
AND GUSTY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS LATER
    TODAY AND TOMORROW.

    Bingo!

Last week while surfing in NJ, I noticed so many bass in the water it was unbelievable.  Bait breaking water all over the place, followed by the tell-tale splash of big feeding bass.  On Friday, one hit my foot.  Freaked me out.

Still not exactly optimistic about further development - but it def looks at least slightly more promising than 24 hours ago!

  • Looks like a depression allready.

But its way to far north, it has a near 100 percent chance of recurving before 50 East historically.

It always amazes me how these waves come of Africa ocassionaly as depressions allready. The water right near the coast of Africa is warm.

  • There is prevailing moderate-light shear in the area. Which should reduce development. There seams to be quite a bit of moisture in the air and some convection with the system already. I give it 50/50 which is what NHC is giving it. tomorrow we should have a better idea. It seams that when they come off the coast they always look good and then suddenly there gone.
