Baggage Embargos
« on: June 11, 2007, 10:51:41 PM »
Read the fine print before you buy that ticket!
Holy CRAP. I just went through a tricky set of negotiations with Continental Airlines. Just looking at my trip info, see this little detail abt baggage embargos and it says no surfboards from June-Aug to basically all coastal Mexico. Call the airlines, they say no, sorry, tough luck. I tell her I bought the tix 6 months ago, please take another look, I have a big group, etc..All the while trying not to lose it!! Lady puts me on hold for like 20 min and comes back and says yeah, it OK, only because its a full size plane, but that normally its a big no to bending bag embargo rules. I was being extra nice on the phone so I bet that helped, but damn if she told me I was not going to be able to bring the sleds I was going to go into the phone to go kick her ass! Been planning to do the Michoacan surfari since Jan, and then they pull this sh!t?

BUYER BEWARE:
If you're flying this summer, check your airlines for baggage embargos. You don't want to have to ship your boards and spend an extra day/night at the airport waiting for them.

That sucks. I hate Continental. They are so expensive for flying boards and not at all surfer friendly. It seems like they are making us pay more and more to render less and less services and quality customer relations.
