    I think the rain/weather killed it, unfortunately.

    Next year maybe we should try and get a vid premiere at the Tap or something for afterwards - I think that worked out pretty well one year if I remember correctly, right psycho??  ;D ;D

    • Unfortunately I only work at Mollusk on Saturdays and Mondays so I wasn't able to make it to the event. However I heard it was rad. Juan told me that he won the contest on the board I shaped him. He and I would love to see some photos did anyone happen to snap off any? Check my blog if you haven't seen his board up close and personal. It came out pretty sweet.

    and yeah, i'm not surprised at all that dude juan won. i don't know him (though i've seen him surf) but that guy freakin' rips. he's a really good surfer.

    • Thanks guys. The art work is all Juan. His art is ridiculous. His art inspires my shaping so we kinda feed off each other. Juan had a lot to do with the shape too. We worked closely on this board and he sat through the whole shaping process. Everyone who is seriously interested in ordering a board can email me at GGcustoms@mac.com My list is almost full right now and I'm working on another board for Juan and possibly a quad fish for Mikey DeTemple but we haven't settled on a shape yet. I want to make him a smaller version of the blue quad fish that I ride all the time. That board is magic.

    I saw that board from at least 50 yards away a few weeks ago and knew it was Supreme's work for Juan. Awesome shape and awesome artwork! Aside from the pictures, I haven't seen it up close and personal, but I love how he let the paint drip on the traction pad. That's style.

    Sorry I missed the event. Had plans to take my girlfriend and son up to Storm King to see the Maya Lin exhibit. Big ups to Juan for taking first!

    Joe Gillen, who lives in Va Beach and surf in the ESA OBX District, came up for the contest and won Grandmasters, Masters Longboard and Open.   :o
