I always liked front foot pads though i figured they were heavy and ugly. After I got my first EPS board i realized two things, 1) that board is so light any weight from a trac pad isn't going to be a big deal, and 2) epoxy is hard on the bones.

the only problem--they do not seem to manufacture front foot pads any more. So i'm making due with a longboard rear. And I love it so far.

You're right, not exactly aesthetic, but hey, as long as it works, who cares! Is it uncomfortable at all on your chest when you're paddling?

It certainly isn't with a wetsuit. I pretty much never surf in just trunks.

6'1" x 20 3/4" x 2" with a 17" nose. EPS. I'm starting to dig it a lot. Perfect for a bunch of those days last week. I think it would be perfect if it was an inch or so shorter.

agreed the 6'0 vs. the 6'1 would make a dramatic difference.  6'0 or nothing brah.

Actually, sometimes an inch on a shortboard can make a lot of difference. personally i would go about 4 inches shorter for that width....but thats just me and Im a midget, as Jake would say.  I like to sometimes surf in trunks and the front pad would kill me, cuz of the sweatervest Ive been rockin lately. But yea front pads are sick sometimes...you can feel where your font foot is if you put it on that sweet spot.   feels good esp on short stubbies like that board.

is that a quad?

Yeah, maybe i'm sensitive but i can notice the 2 inch difference between this and my previous everyday board. I guess i'm lucky in a way that never go bare chested. Yes, it's a quad and yeah it' meant to be ridden very short, but i'm not as young as I used to be so i figured a couple extra inches wouldn't hurt. EPS in interesting.

xm makes this clear traction that seems kinda interesting. more like grip tape than a track pad.
