yes, they eff with us for any little thing. Its now illegal to be on the sand after dark & the cops have been enforcing that here & there & can ticket you or arrest you for drinking on the beach. I know allota folks who got open container tickets durring the day durring beach hours but when the beach is closed you'll get in trouble for that & there are no fires allowed anymore. I think its becuase of the abuse of drinking & fires from years ago they changed the rules. Its illegal.

How awsome would a real deal beach party be....

We get to have a party on the beach after the fireworks at Jones on the 4th, its the only day of the year we are allowed. Always a great time, people always get naked and hit the ocean...

You think the cops are bad in Rock, LB is like SS in WW2. I got some sick sick fireworks in PA a couple weeks ago. Last weekend (welllll into the night) I ran down front and burried my morter tube in the sand an unloaded a couple shells (which arent loud and are beautiful) literly within 30 seconds a flood light was shinning onto the beach (I ducked out just in time) I havent been bother (yet) fishing though...

Yeah man Like how I used to hang out in VA Beach or NC as a kid. We used to watch all the hot older girls dancing around the transister radios drinkin beer with a tiny bonfire lit. i was a grom & we were too affraid to go talk to em most the time. every now & then some chics would see us & invite us over & one night my friend & i got super lucky & these drunk seniors (High School that is) were smoking & drinking & got butt nekid & skinny dipped with us & we got lucky. Total 80's style rocker love! it was about 1985 & I had a rad Mullet mohawk thing & checker boarded vans, lol!

Unfortunately in NYC I think people would probably trash the beach & get into trouble. Rock would have china Bike & SUV with spinner club gangs hanging out all over the beach, I cant imagine absoltue disaster if they didnt have the rules in place that they do. And the drowings would probably be completely stupid.

One of the many things I love about OBX is how easy they make beach access for everyone.  You can drive on the beach without a permit, surf where you would like, have bonfires, set off fireworks, etc.  I know its a lot more spread out and a lot less people but I really love enjoying the beach / ocean without a bunch of rules.

I don't want to burst your bubble but the situation in the OBX may not be the case any/much longer.  National Park Service is closing access.  I don't have the time to go into detail, but if you go to http://www.savehatteras.com/ and/or do a google search for the NC Beach Buggy Association to get more details.

I would say the only reason we need police is because many an arsehole doesn't know how to behave and ruins it for the rest of us. Maybe I'm a little old, a little too smart, a little too wise,  to be wearing such a big chip on my shoulder?

I think we should look in the mirror and think, wow, maybe I'm the jerk that is helping to bring the the man down on my own ass. Maybe it's me, and if it's not me then maybe I shouldn't be hanging out with the people that think it is me.  MAYBE?

Once again you show your glowing ability to not "get it".  Show me one instance, in any thread where I have made any mention of you taking a thread off topic.  Please be aware that, while I may not have said anything about your attempted thread hijacks or non sequiturs, they have, on many occasions, pissed me off, so you are finally right about something.  I am the first person to appreciate sarcasm and/or humor on this and other forums, but that is not the reason that I post here.  You constant need to post for the sake of posting and not to add anything of consequence to the thread is what is annoying to me and I am willing to bet to many others here.  Please be advised that from this point forward I will not hesitate to remove any post that you make that is not germane to the thread in any room in which I have that ability.  I have given you the benefit of the doubt up to this point.

Wow, i didnt know that it was that serious of a situation here. I thought it was a Message Board where people talk sh*t about anything from surfing to politics to elephants. But like they say, some people are sicker than others. To go to the extreme to remove posts that you personally don't approve of is pretty damn extreme. But I guess thats your sweet over dominating side that comes out on the internet. Who gives a crap if I post for the sake of posting or for the same damn reasons you do? You don't have to read my posts or respond. Don't be such a NYNJ nazi.
Lets have coffee sometime, when we finally meet eachother this summer in the R*ck we can hopefully hug and have a sarcastic hot dog together.
