Go skateboard. Find a nice bank and pretend you are on a wave riding backside. Carve the bank like a wave. It really works!!! (for me at least) Its pretty much the same motion.

yea, i think nothing beats practice. my backside sucked pretty bad, so i exclusively surfed a single righthand break for about a year and a half. It helped a lot and i was okay backside for awhile, though i've drifted back into sucking again.

I hear that, the skateboard Idea may help. Im pretty stiff & thats the problem. I drop in & when I get into th wave I find myself being super stiff in my upper body, Like a snowboarder just learning, I dont move my shoulders right & I can tell Im keeping too much of my back to the wave. On a shortboard, this isnt good. Im just going to really try getting more rights & bending my knees more & get my shoulders to do alotta the work. It could just be longboard habbits holding me back too.
