Looking for not to big not to small.

I was there in March and it was lovely, not so hot and we got an early south swell, so I got to surf the east cape, which was really, really cool.  Apparently the best time to go for swell is the summer time.  The cabo area in general is not so great.  I wouldn't go back.  If I was going to travel to baja sur again, I'd go to the todos santos area, which is about an hour or more from Cabo and totally different.  It breaks in the winter, too, on N, NW and W swells that won't break in the hotel zone on the cape.

I was in cabo in october a few years back....the weather was very nice, but  they have a very active hurricaine season there, so it could go either way....I didn't really like touristy cabo, but I would like to explore north of there just like Bubba said....

Todos Santos is just a dusty little town with an ex-pat artist community.  It has a few bars, a few fancy restaraunts and a nice hotel, as well as some pension-type lodging.  I loved it.  It's pretty much the total converse of Cabo, which is a suckhole of ugly Americanism -- i.e. filled with drunk jerkoffs from Arizona and California on the hunt for easy pussy and bargain shopping for pharms.

Dude you are killing me.  Angry Angry   I've been researching a winter vacation to Cabo next winter.  I'm looking into doing an all inclusive and hopefully some side trips like to Todo Santos and around to the Sea of Cortez side.

Look into staying in Todos Santos, instead.  Its a quaint town with nice beaches nearby that will have good waves in the winter time.  In fact, there's a whole string of great beaches from south of Todos running all the way north with a huge variety of waves.

In Todos Santos, you can go see Cabo if you want, but you're not stuck there.  If you're set on going all-inclusive, you could stay in the hotel zone between San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo proper.  But if you're going in the winter time, be warned that that whole wave zone will likely be flat to tiny.  The east cape is cool in its own right, surf or no surf and worth a trip, even if its flat.  Awesome kayaking and fishing, from what I hear.

I'm indeed looking at the corridor.  As to being set on an all-inclusive........ I could just as easily camp or otherwise rough it.  I just got my wife back on a plane after 15 years last month and if there is any way possible I want to keep her flying.  Grin  She always loved Mexico and I figured this would be the way to go.  We'll see.
