I was on a ten day trip to Nicaragua, staying with JJ Yemma at his surf camp at Popoyo. Within a ten minute drive from the camp there are several different waves ranging from a reef point to beach breaks. All week long we had been surfing the reef point as well as some of the punchy beach breaks. Outside of the main break is an outer reef that breaks like pipeline/ Chopes/ the box. There’s a trace SE groundswell showing at ~15.3s (already decayed quite a bit.. first hit the buoy at 17.9s)… pretty long and that angle is a straight shot to the southern hemisphere.. just food for thought.

A few weeks ago, I noticed that a large area delamination on the deck of my CooperFish NoseDevil had developed in between the pinline & stringer. The origin of “the delam” is still a mystery, but it was bad. Justin(Onefin) said that the Coop didn’t like heat, and a few days after an early June heat wave, there was a 3 foot long bubble as loose as a drum head on the deck. It was shaped like the mirror image of the Puma sneaker logo only two feet from the trademark and expanded towards the right rail. Needless to say, I was bummed and thought about how it happened, if I could surf it, and how I would get it fixed.

I think May 5th morning session was probably one of my best, the Ophelia swell was really good for me too {photo}, but I snapped that green/white board in the photo later in the day….ran back and grabbed another board and a Tiger Milk bar for LN who had been out for 7 hours at that point. Stuck the bar in the leg of my wetsuit and paddled out to him, he was so happy…..

Pretty flat. Historically, 17.7 days of the 30 day month rated a zero, 9.4 days rating a 1; and only 2.9 days on average rated a 2 or higher, and the majority of those were only a 2.

and when we look at those generated from the verdes - there’s some good names in there…
